The Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship 2023 24 previously known by Maulana Azad Scholarship is a national-level initiative of the Government of India to support the education of meritorious girl students belonging to minority communities of India . This scheme was Implemented by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation and this scheme aims to encourage girls from underprivileged backgrounds to continue their school education without facing financial obstacles. This scholarship provides financial assistance of rs 10000 to rs 12000 per year to eligible students studying in Classes 9 to 12. Since its inception scheme has successfully supported nearly 6 lakh minority girl students across the country, helping them achieve educational stability and academic growth.

1. The student must be Belonging to one of the six notified minority communities like Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain or Parsi.

3. The student must have secured at least 50 percent of marks or equivalent grades in her previous annual examination.
4. The annual family income from all sources should be less than 2 lakh.

The application process for the Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship is entirely online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Here’s a step-by-step guide to help applicants complete the process smoothly:

1. Visit the official website scholarships.gov.in.
2. Click onto New Registration and read the guidelines carefully.
3. Fill out the Student Registration Form with valid details.
4. Log in using the registered mobile number and date of birth.
5. Complete the scholarship form by entering personal, academic, and bank details.
6. Upload all necessary documents.
7. Review the form carefully and click on Final Submit.

Selection Process Explained

The selection for this scholarship is merit-cum-means based. Eligible applicants are shortlisted based on their:

• Previous academic performance (minimum 50%), and
• Family income level (priority to lower income families)

The final list of selected students is published on the MAEF official website after due verification of documents.

Renewal Rules

This scholarship does not support renewals. Since it covers Classes 9 to 12, students must apply afresh every academic year if they continue to meet eligibility conditions.

Important Terms & Conditions

• Any false information will result in cancellation and recovery of the amount.
• Students already availing any other government scholarship are not eligible.
